However, the degree of pain will vary with each person.  Whether you are experiencing acute or chronic back pain, the doctors at the Chiropractic Nutrition Center will help you discover the cause of this pain and an action plan to treat these symptoms and help you to reach your wellness goals.

About the back

The back covers a large body area, consisting of tendons, ligaments, discs, muscles, and bones. Without a solid understanding of these different parts, it can be complicated to locate and address the source of the pain.

Disc bulges and herniation are conditions in which the outer edges of the discs, located between the vertebrae, are damaged. This causes the jelly-like center to bulge or is pushed out.   Because many people have not had regular preventative chiropractic care, this can be a common issue that may or may not produce any “symptoms.”  The quality and intensity of a bulging disk, for those who experience pain, depends on the type and position of the herniation. If the damaged disc is irritating a surrounding nerve, shooting or stabbing pain along with weakness or tingling in the legs is often severe.

Therefore, it is important that the condition is properly identified and promptly treated to avoid further damage. The doctors at the Chiropractic Nutrition Center will thoroughly assess your back to determine the extent of the issue and the appropriate treatment to prevent any more deterioration of the disc and provide relief from the associated pain.

Subluxation – the root of the problem

A vertebral subluxation is a medical term describing a spinal column misalignment resulting in abnormal motion or position affecting nerve communications between your brain and your body. There are a wide variety of causes, including physical stress, trauma, and toxins. Distorted nerve communications can be the underlying cause of numerous health issues and reach far beyond just headaches and back pain. Subluxations are often quite painful and can disrupt normal movement. Unfortunately, subluxations are one of the most commonly overlooked contributors to back pain. Chiropractors are trained to identify and correct this issue using non-invasive, drug-free adjustment techniques.
