Soda’s are the number one source of calories for most Americans as they account for more than 25 percent of all drinks consumed in the US.  The average American drinks more than 60 gallons of soft drinks each year.  Soda is a significant contributor to obesity.

Can you believe the average girl has one ounce of pure sugar and boy two ounces of pure sugar EVERY DAY from sodas? That is nearly 50 pounds of sugar every year just from soda. Drinking a single can a day translates to more than a pound of weight gain every month.

And diet soda is just as likely to cause weight gain as regular, if not more. It may sound counterintuitive, but drinking diet soft drinks actually will NOT help you lose weight.

Artificial sweeteners induce a whole set of physiologic and hormonal responses that actually make you gain extra pounds. (Not to mention the fact that artificial sweeteners are more dangerous for your health than high fructose corn syrup in many other ways.)
Other dangers of soda and diet soda include: liver damage, tooth decay, kidney stones or chronic kidney disease, diabetes, heartburn, acid reflux, osteoporosis, hypertension or high blood pressure, heart disease, impaired digestion or gastrointestinal distress, mental health problems including hyperactivity, and gout.
We all need about one quart of water for every 50 pounds of body weight. Soda, juice and milk do not count toward this requirement.  Remember, the best way to lose weight is to eat what we can find in its most natural state such as fruits and vegetables.  Water should be the primary liquid you consume all day.

The Manga Report

As the largest existing analysis of scientific literature on low back pain, the 1993 Ontario Ministry of Health commissioned study drew international attention when it recommended the management of low back pain be moved from medical doctors to chiropractic doctors.

Due to serious financial problems with the Canadian governments, the different types of treatments for low back conditions were evaluated in an effort to reduce and contain health care costs. Their findings showed chiropractic manipulation was the most cost effective and efficacious care for low back pain.

According to lead investigator Pran Manga, Ph.D.,

“There is good empirical evidence that patients are very satisfied with chiropractic management of low back pain and considerably less satisfied with medical physician management.”
